The Big Fibre Boost marketing plan update

On 19 February 2025 we confirmed The Big Fibre Boost dates and advised that the product offer name changes would be available in EMMA for testing from 9 April 2025 and will be in all production systems on 16 June 2025.  

We have been formulating our marketing plans to launch The Big Fibre Boost to consumers. While the campaign is a work in progress, we can share the following updates to the overarching strategy and timings.

What’s happening

We are delivering a marketing campaign across advertising media, PR, Chorus’ social profiles, and our website to drive awareness and understanding of the upcoming boost. The campaign started with the formal press release in February to confirm the boost and will continue running across three distinct phases of activity into July and beyond.

The phased activities by communication objective

  • Phase 1 (mid-February to 31 May) is focused on building awareness and understanding that another boost is required to keep ahead of NZ's increased data needs. We will support this messaging in PR activity, social media, and a teaser advertising campaign in outdoor, and some static digital TV placements.
  • Phase 2 (throughout June) will be focused on driving the awareness of the boost, communicating that the boost is progress, leveraging content, social media, and a brand awareness advertising campaign in TV, outdoor, digital and paid social channels.
  • Phase 3 (July onwards) will be focused on communicating the tangible benefits of the boost through content, social and digital.
