We recently consulted with you on the prioritisation of our next EdgeCentre Colocation deployment and sought feedback on your preferred location from a shortlist of our existing Auckland portfolio of sites.

We have received seven responses as part of this consultation which has provided us a clear indication of your desire for another EdgeCentre facility in Auckland that provides:

• Geo-diversity between existing data centres.
• Connectivity, diversity and handover availability.
• A home for your Content Delivery Network and hosting services.

The poll showed that Ponsonby (POY) exchange is highly desirable, ranking as the clear favourite followed by Forrest Hill (FOR), while Massey (MSY) and Mangere (MRE) ranked equally in third place. 

What are the next steps?

Based on the outcome of this consultation the next site we will explore building in and offering EdgeCentre Colocation is likely to be Ponsonby exchange. We will now commence feasibility of build at this site, preparing conceptual designs and timeframes to communicate back to market early in August 2024.

If you have already signalled interest in POY we will be in touch to understand timings and requirements, however it's not too late to provide feedback and future proof your requirements in our next build.

Where else can we offer EdgeCentre Colocation?

Beyond our existing four locations, feedback listed a desire for EdgeCentre to be made available in Hamilton, Palmerston North, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson and Dunedin.
