Our migration programmes
Latest news: Chorus ‘fibre ready’ customer trials continue with ~1,800 fibre intact customers ready for you to connect
We’re developing new ways to help get your customers connected to fibre faster, more efficiently and through a better install experience.
In March, we launched our managed fibre campaign process to support one-day installs in targeted areas. We’re using this process to trial further improvements, working with you to build migration processes for all customer premise types.
Contact your Chorus Account Team if you’d like to take part in our managed fibre campaign process and the ongoing trials.
Managed fibre campaign process (fibre migration trials):
We’ve developed a new process to improve the customer experience through one-day installations, which also gives you the ability to market shorter installation time-frames to customers in a targeted area.
Launched on the 1 March 2018, details of the new process can be found here. We’re using this process to develop our migration capability, trialing new ways to connect customers through a better install experience.
Building our migration capability:
We’re developing the processes to get more customers connected to fibre faster, more efficiently and through a better install experience. We’re running a series of small scale trials via our Managed Fibre Campaign process:
Our trials outlined:
- Lead Generation – Chorus goes door-to-door encouraging customers to connect to fibre, working with their chosen provider, if requested.
- Accelerated Rights-of-Way (RoW) process – enable targeted fibre campaigns to offer an accelerated connection process for customers who access their home through a RoW.
- Accelerated Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) process – enable targeted fibre campaigns to accelerate the connection process for customers living in terraced housing, apartments or gated communities.
- Copper migration trials – test the messaging and processes outlined in the draft TCF copper migration approach for targeted network lifecycle projects (e.g. OHUGs).
Chorus-led migration trials:
We're testing ways to make homes ‘fibre ready’. This is when a fibre installation is completed in a home before an order's placed. ‘Fibre ready’ makes it easier for your customers to eventually upgrade, by showing them what’s involved and completing their standard residential install for free.
We’ll leave your customers connected to their existing service, but also build their fibre intact. Allowing your customers to connect to fibre whenever they’re ready, through their chosen broadband provider.
See our ONT status at address page for the latest list of homes which have been made ‘fibre-ready’ through our Chorus-led campaigns and are now available for you to connect.
