As you will no doubt be aware, a major weather event has impacted the Canterbury area over the last two days causing disruption across the region. Chorus has mobilised its event response processes to manage maintenance and recovery of services.
There are currently two fibre faults, one located near the Porter River bridge and the other near Otira, impacting around 95 customers. Chorus teams are working to restore service, with technicians beginning repair work on the fault near the Porter River bridge which is expected to be completed tonight.
Chorus is working closely with Civil Defence, the Canterbury and Ashburton councils and with Lifelines to help manage the event.
Impacts and updates are being notified through BAU Service Events channels.
Take care out there.
