The eDMR Backhaul service is an Ethernet bitstream service that provides a single modified EPL Ethernet Virtual Circuit (EVC) with up to three service VLANs as follows:

  1. At the E-NNI located at the mobile site each service VLAN is terminated as either:(i) an 802.1ad SVID per service VLAN; or an 802.1ad SVID per service VLAN; or 802.1q. Only available for single service VLAN option.
  2. At the eDMR Ethernet Handover Connection at the designated handover point each service VLAN is terminated as either: an 802.1ad SVID per service VLAN at the E-NNI; or 802.1q at the E-NNI. Only available for single service VLAN option
  3. Each service VLAN allows up to 4093 customer VLANs to be passed transparently between the mobile site and the mobile service provider, delivered over an eDMR access.
  4. All service VLANs share a common bandwidth profile applied to the EPL; see appendix A. Traffic that exceeds the bandwidth profile will be discarded as out-of-profile:
  • Support for high priority classified traffic only.
  • A range of symmetrical bandwidth options selected on a per-site basis.
  • Supports tagged traffic only at the E-NNI at the mobile site and eDMR handover connection.
  • The designated handover location will be the closest First Data Switch (FDS) location to the eDMR node based on deployed eDMR and fibre routes.
