Colocation temperature pilot delay – delayed start
We recently let you know that we are looking to trial a change in temperature controls in colocation spaces which may be relevant to your equipment.
What’s changed?
Due to a delay in the delivery of energy meters required for monitoring, the pilot start date has been deferred from 30 July to October 2025. These meters are essential for capturing accurate energy usage data across the sites.
Background
As part of our sustainability efforts, Chorus is piloting a change to the cooling system set points at four exchanges. This initiative aligns with international standards (ETSI EN-300 019-1-3 and TIA-569-D) and aims to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
Pilot sites:
- TNA – Takapuna
- FOR – Forrest Hill
- DRF – Darfield
- MDX – Middleton
Our channel partnerships team has already reached out if you have any equipment in these locations. Site audits have been completed.
Next steps:
- Monitoring equipment is being prepared
- Baseline temperature data collection will begin in September.
No action is required from you at this stage unless you anticipate an impact on your equipment or services. We will keep you informed as we approach the revised start date and share pilot outcomes before any broader rollout.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Partner Delivery Manager.
