Changes to the Service Provider website in October

What's changing?

As we previously communicated in December 2024, we’re working on a significant upgrade to our Service Provider website - sp.chorus.co.nz. We’ve now reached the implementation phase of these changes which will bring enhancements to our content management operations to improve site performance and security.

To recap and provide additional details, we're making several important updates to:

  1. Content management system
sp.chorus.co.nz will migrate to a new content management system that will improve our service delivery and enhance your experience of the website.
  2. URL paths
We’re making changes to our URL paths to improve navigation and content findability.
  3. Secure access implementation
All content and artefacts on the new site will have more robust security in place to ensure Chorus data and shared resources are accessible to authorised users.
  4. Data integration workflow
If your organisation currently uses web-scraping tools or scripts to extract data (e.g. PDFs, CSVs) from the site into your internal systems, please note that this functionality will not be supported on the new platform.

Timeline

These changes will take effect on 1 October 2025.

How this affects you

  • From 1 October 2025, all customers will need to log-in using their Chorus managed accounts (@chorus.co.nz) to access any content on sp.chorus.co.nz
  • The sp.chorus.co.nz website will have a new look and feel that has already been rolled out on other Chorus websites, including the public facing website - www.chorus.co.nz
  • Old URLs will be automatically redirected to our new URLs. This redirection service will allow you to update links from your sites.
  • Integration users: If you use automated data extraction to fetch data from sp.chorus.co.nz, you'll need to transition to a new supported workflow.

Preparing for the change

  • All Service Providers:
    • Ensure all your organisation's users have a valid Chorus managed account. If users don’t have a Chorus managed account or have forgotten their log-in details, please contact your Activate RSP administrators for assistance.
  • Integration users:
    • To help you prepare for this change and ensure continuity of your operations, we ask that you contact your Customer Engagement team. They will work with you to understand your specific requirements and help identify alternative methods for data integration that will serve your needs effectively.

Which sites are affected by this change?

This change only relates to sp.chorus.co.nz. The Chorus Fibre Ordering and Wireline ordering portals are not affected by this migration.
