As local fibre companies (LFCs), we’re all about connecting people to the speed and reliability of fibre broadband.
We recognise that managing campaigns across four different LFCs can sometimes be complex, which may limit your ability to deliver a consistent, nationwide approach. That’s why we’re excited to propose a collaborative activity to support your fibre objectives: the LFC Inactive ONT Incentive.
The LFCs are proposing to release a standardised incentive designed to simplify campaign execution. Supported by consistent, easily accessible address data, this incentive will help enable coordinated, nationwide activity to connect even more New Zealanders to fibre broadband.
Proposed incentive
- Special incentive: enjoy 50% off the applicable wholesale charge for 12 months on both Fibre 300/100 and Fibre Starter/HFS (or equivalent) (actual value is based on respective LFC charges).
- Eligibility: installed ONTs that have been inactive for 180 days or more, based on the specific addresses provided by the LFCs.
- Offer mechanism: fulfilment may vary across LFCs, such as a credit (with clawbacks), or a discount on the monthly wholesale charge.
- Data support: we propose each LFC will provide retailers with a consistently formatted, data file with regularly updated eligible addresses.
- Incentive period: available for order from 1 April to 30 June 2025, with service activation by 31 July 2025.
Consultation
You are invited to submit your feedback on this proposed incentive via our online form by close of business 4 December 2024. By submitting your feedback you acknowledge that your feedback will be shared with all of the LFCs and otherwise treated as confidential information by each LFC under their respective wholesale services agreements. If you want to submit feedback to Chorus without us sharing your identity with the other LFCs, you can do that via your Customer Engagement team and we won’t share any identifying information about you.
Following consideration of feedback, we will make a decision on whether to proceed with this proposed incentive and intend to announce that decision in December.
