Confidential information required for Commerce Commission’s annual data collection
This is an inform that the Commerce Commission (Commission) is requiring Chorus to provide it with information that is confidential to Retail Service Providers (RSPs), including:
- connection location co-ordinates;
- what product was provided to a location; and
- fault information.
This information is identifiable to individual RSPs and we will ask the Commission to treat all this information as confidential. We are not requesting any action from you - this is an FYI only.
Background
In September we received a statutory notice to supply information to the Commission to support the Annual Industry Data Collection. This exercise is the Commission's successor to its Rural Connectivity Study of last year. Our response is due 20 November 2024.
We understand the Commission is requesting information from fewer providers to reduce the burden of information requests on you.
