Our RSP incentives are designed to reward RSPs for getting more consumer and business customers connected to Chorus’ fast and reliable fibre network. We know end customers that enjoy a better experience online are happier and less likely to churn from their current RSP.

Consumer incentives

New Zealanders are doing more and more online and we want as many people as possible to experience fast and reliable internet.  

To continue to help RSPs get more households on fibre we are maintaining the core the concepts of our existing Pure Fibre incentive framework, with some variations:  

  • Home Fibre 300 and Home Fibre 920 credits for eligible connections have increased to $200 and $250 (in FY24 they were $175 and $225 respectively).
  • The period of inactivity for a connection previously on fibre is now 12+ months (it was previously 3 months).
Residential incentives

* For Home Fibre Starter (HFS), the retail price condition remains in place for input price eligibility.

** To be eligible the address must have been on the lower speed plan for >30 days (there are some exclusions, please refer to our offer letter. There is no upgrade credit for business to consumer plan changes. 

 

Business incentives  

Kiwi businesses deserve the best connection possible to drive productivity, embrace new technologies and deliver world class customer experience.  

Our business fibre plans are designed for businesses large and small, with great bandwidth (up and down) and business-grade fast-tracked fault response SLAs.

To help RSPs get more businesses on fibre we are continuing with our Flash incentives from FY24, with the main change being that the period of inactivity for a connection previously on fibre is now 12+ months (it was previously 1 month).

Business incentives

* Upgrades to Small Business Fibre, eligibility is limited to consumer plans of a lower bandwidth.

A couple of things to note:  

  1. For both Business and Consumer incentives the following order types are eligible:
    • Acquisition incentives: New Connection (Connect Primary) orders  
    • Upgrade incentive: Change and Transfer orders
  2. The monthly ‘Net Fibre Growth’ eligibility condition will remain in place for Consumer incentives and will also be applied for Business incentives.  
    • This requires a participating RSP to achieve growth in its Chorus fibre customer base (Consumer and Business combined).
    • RSPs have the option of selecting the calculation methodology from a month on month comparison or using a 3 month rolling average. RSP selection under the Pure Fibre incentive will be rolled over unless you tell us before 30 September that you want to change (from month on month to 3MRA or vice versa). The selected methodology is to be applied for the term of the incentive offer.  
    • An RSP will receive 67% of applicable incentives if the condition is not met.
