Hyperfibre automated feasibility - installs

Hyperfibre and High Priority Access (HPA) connections that require a new fibre to be installed currently require manual work which can extend the timeframe for order completion. Following the enhancement Automated Feasibility Intacts built in September last year to improve the ordering journey for an ONT replacement, we are extending automated feasibility to Hyperfibre 2000, 4000 and HPA 1000 orders that will have an entire new fibre connection or a “connect additional ONT” (not an ONT upgrade).

Proposed changes – Enhancement of Automated Feasibility

This system change will allow the feasibility to be completed before an order is submitted, allowing you to book your scope and install appointment(s) accurately, in real time. This second release will focus on:

  • Addresses that require a new ONT to be installed for Hyperfibre 2000, 4000 plans or High Priority Access 1000.

The key benefit this will deliver is addresses that have a relationship to an upgraded line-card will not have to wait the four-week advanced scheduling lead time but will be scheduled straight out to the field, potentially being completed in as little as four days. A list of addresses with Hyperfibre ready line-cards can be found here.

We recommend you test your systems and inform us if there is any impact before these changes go live.

  • Prod-EMMA is targeted to be updated for testing by 9 April 2024.
  • This change is targeted to be deployed to production on 5 May 2024.

We currently do not have plans to extend this functionality to Hyperfibre 8000 orders due to the complexity of network requirements, these will continue to require manual intervention within Chorus.
