We recently consulted with the industry on our intention to make the SPO (currently only used for High Priority Access) as the primary ONT for Business Hyperfibre services. At the start of November, we confirmed the positive feedback on the consultation and let you know that we will share more information soon.

Our decision was confirmed to provide the SPO as the primary ONT for Business Hyperfibre. Our indicative launch timeframe for this change (from the Gen1 XGS ONT - which we currently use for Business Hyperfibre services) to the use of the SPO is April 2024. We will let you know the firm launch date when we are closer to launch. 

This update is intended to give you notice to allow for any required testing completed prior to launch of the SPO for Business Hyperfibre.

For any testing that you may wish to do, we would recommend that you utilise the CCIL (Chorus Co-innovation Lab) process, and if you have any questions then please contact your Service Delivery Manager for guidance.

If you have already tested the SPO for use with High Priority Access, then you may have very little to do for testing the SPO on Business Hyperfibre.
