Fibre APIs – release update
We are on the verge of launching the first three of our Fibre connect APIs and the technical documentation is available today. These powerful tools, co-designed with many of you will enable you to transact with Chorus seamlessly for your fibre ordering and offer a modern easy experience for your technical teams to learn and use. Everyone is welcome to take advantage of these APIs and create customised end-customer experiences, efficiencies for your front-end teams and uncover new possibilities that we haven’t even thought of yet.
The first of the new APIs are:
- Place API: Find an address or location, retrieve a Place ID, request site information, and view active products, open fibre orders and ONTs at the address or location.
- Product Offer API: Find out which fibre products are available to order at an address or location.
- Order Feasibility API: Determine whether it's feasible to order a fibre product offer for an address or location.
To check out our developer documentation visit API Explorer. You'll find comprehensive information, including endpoints, authentication methods, examples to help you get started and support details if you have any questions.
We have also published a Fibre API overview page, which can be found here on our Service Provider website. This includes a map of the fibre ordering journey with our Fibre APIs.
The latest in co-design
Thank you to those that have attended and participated in shaping the design of these new APIs. The most recent co-design session was on the Manage Order API on 11 October 2023.
Our next (and last for this year) co-design session is on 29 November 2023 to work on the Order Notifications API.
Timelines
Beta versions of the above three APIs are going to be launched on 21 November 2023. You can see the roadmap for the rest of the APIs here.
Once full B2B capability has been enabled within the new APIs, we plan to issue the decommissioning notice on B2B.
Those customers that need to migrate from B2B, please make sure that you are planning your investment and prioritisation for this work.
The current expectation is that B2B will be decommissioned mid-2025.
