Confirmation of Anchor Services and linked services final price changes from 1 October 2023
The June quarter index has now been published and we’ve calculated the amount by which price of Broadband Anchor, Voice Anchor, LUDFAS, Fibre 300 and Small Business Fibre 500 pricing under the 2022 CSA/Reference Offer will increase from 1 October 2023.
On 5 July we let you know the pricing of the Broadband Anchor, Voice Anchor, LUDFAS, Fibre 300 services would increase by the lower of the March quarter 2023 CPI or the June quarter 2023 CPI from 1 October 2023. We explained the methodology we’d use to calculate this price increase in our earlier customer update. Now we’ve used that methodology to determine the actual price increase applicable from 1 October 2023.
What are the details?
Statistics NZ have confirmed the rate by which the CPI – All Groups index for the June quarter 2023 (1231) exceeds the June quarter 2022 (1161), expressed as 6.0%.
As this rate is lower than the March CPI rate expressed as 6.65%, the current Broadband Anchor, Voice Anchor, LUDFAS and Fibre 300 will be increased by the June CPI rate. We had advised Small Business Fibre 500 would be the lower of either a March CPI increase; or $5 above the increased price of the Fibre 300 plan. Given the 6% increase to Fibre 300, we are also confirming that the March CPI, expressed as 6.65% will be applied to this plan.

We note that even with these price increases the prices for our Anchor Services and the tethered Fibre 300 plan remain well under the regulated price caps for the under the Telecommunications (Regulated Fibre Services) Regulations 2021 for the second year running (see below):

Next steps
These price changes will be implemented from 1 October 2023. Service providers will receive their first invoices reflecting the new prices in the October billing cycle.
