In March 2023 we provided an update detailing the outcome of our industry consultation and our decision to proceed with the development of High Priority Access.  

We are now pleased to provide you with notice that we are planning to launch High Priority Access 1000 on 31 July 2023. From this date we will also introduce two new ONTs exclusively for High Priority Access. 

High Priority Access delivers performance that is comparable to that of point-to-point products like Business Premium or HSNS, but for a more competitive price. With High Traffic Class bandwidth and large MTU support, High Priority Access is ideal for data hungry use-cases such as medium to large enterprise connections or providing connectivity to wireless sites. 

Below is a high-level overview of the new High Priority Access product:

Introducing the HPA Single Port XGSPON ONT 

Our original plan was to launch High Priority Access 1000 using existing Hyperfibre ONTs in July 2023. We had to adapt this plan once it became apparent that the existing Hyperfibre ONTs do not support large MTU size, which was identified as a key feature requirement in our consultation with industry. 

To solve for this challenge, we have identified and sourced a single port XGSPON ONT that has all the required characteristics.

This ONT will only be available for High Priority Access, though this may be extended to other products in future. 

Introducing the HPA SFP ONT 

We had also planned to introduce an SFP ONT for High Priority Access, with a target launch of November 2023. We are pleased to let you know that we have been able to bring forward the SFP ONT introduction, and it is now going to be launched alongside the Single Port ONT on 31 July 2023.

This ONT will only be available for High Priority Access, though this may be extended to other products in future. 

Notice of changes 

We are now providing official notice for the following: 

1. We are launching High Priority Access 1000, with a planned launch date of 31 July 2023. This is High Priority Access with 1Gbps of High Traffic Class bandwidth, using a Single Port XGSPON ONT. 
2. We are launching High Priority Access 1000 SFP, with a planned launch date of 31 July 2023. This is High Priority Access with 1Gbps of High Traffic Class bandwidth, using an SFP+ ONT. 
3. We are introducing a new Single Port XGSPON ONT, with a planned introduction date of 31 July 2023. The ONT model is XS-010X-Q and it is exclusively available for High Priority Access. This will be ONT ‘SPO 110’ in prequalifications and ordering systems. 
4. We are introducing a new SFP+ XGSPON ONT, with a planned introduction date of 31 July 2023. The ONT model is XS-010S-Y and it is exclusively available for High Priority Access. This will be ONT Type 'SFP 110’ in prequalifications and ordering systems.
