Market Development Fund round 2 - changes to the criteria

Following last week announcement, we received feedback from the service provider community about ‘Getting kiwis to ask for the ‘The fastest fibre’ opportunity.

We have made some changes to the criteria to provide further clarity.

Getting kiwis to ask for the ‘The fastest fibre’

UPDATE > You can apply for a contribution of up to $50,000 to assist you with promoting gig-speed plans using the term ‘the fastest fibre’ where it is the fastest plan you offer (eg. “the fastest fibre we offer” or “It is our fastest fibre plan”) in your advertising or alternatively, where it is not your fastest fibre plan or you wish to propose another option, such other promotional tag lines approved by Chorus (in its sole discretion).  

  • We’ll match your spend dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 per provider
  • Funded activity includes: any advertising targeted to Chorus fibre areas that mentions the term ‘fastest fibre’ or approved alternative in connection to the promotion of the gig-speed plans.

Businesses need business-grade fibre

You can apply for a contribution of up to $50,000 to assist you with marketing and educating businesses on the need for business grade fibre.

  • We’ll match your spend dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 per provider
  • Funded activity includes: the development of any promotional or educational materials and any advertising targeted to Chorus fibre areas that promotes the need for businesses to connect to a business-grade fibre plan.

Launching Hyperfibre

You can apply for a contribution of up to $20,000 to assist with owned channel updates and marketing associated with launching your Hyperfibre product to market.

  • We’ll match your spend dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000 per provider
  • The Hyperfibre branding is also available for use with adherence to the brand guidelines.
  • Funded activity includes: hard costs associated to updates or promotion through owned channels (i.e. website, social channels, email and blog), or any other advertising in line with the regional phased roll-out.

Bulk installs initiative marketing activity

You can apply for funding to cover the full amount of travel costs associated with participating in the bulk installs initiative ‘market days’. 

  • Participants must sign the bulk installs initiative charter to receive the ‘market days’ plan and be eligible for funding for this opportunity
  • Minimum participation is required and there is specific requirements for staffing and promotional materials. Please see the terms for full details.

Funded activity includes: travel costs including flights, rental car and accommodation and collateral production.

Participation in this activity extends beyond the end date of this funding round. Please take note of required dates in the terms.
