We’re postponing the launch of 3rd Generation ONT to 18 March
As you know, we planned to start using the new 3rd Generation ONT from Monday 4 March.
We have decided to postpone the introduction of our new 3rd Generation ONT to Monday 18 March to allow further time for operational readiness and service testing across the industry.
Please note that this change can be absorbed within our current stocks of 2nd Generation ONTs but further postponement is not feasible.
3rd Generation ONT roll out
We’ll begin the rollout from Palmerston North on Monday 18 March. We’ll be using a geographic rollout model in order to give us time to resolve any issues that may come up in mass production roll out.

We recommend that any changes required in your voice configuration systems need to be tested and in place before the new rollout date of 18 March. If you no longer provision new customers with this NGA voice solution, but have some customers in the network that have voice through the ATA on the existing ONT; then you may want to consider making these ACS changes too as we may have to swap the ONT to a 3rd Generation ONT in a fault scenario.
