Withdraw of Basic VDSL amortisation

Following further discussions with you, we’re withdrawing the amortisation of Basic VDSL connection and wiring charges.

What's happening?

After an initial March consultation, the status quo was kept around the amortisation of connection and wiring install charges (refer Informer 375). Following further discussions and analysis, we’re now withdrawing amortisation - effective 1 February 2017.

What's the detail?

Your ordering behaviour is changing, and the vast majority of Basic VDSL orders are now connection onlyinstalls. This change significantly reduces the need for an amortised connection and wiring install charge.

Removing amortisation simplifies the process, and aligns Basic VDSL with the way we apply UBA connection and wiring install charges.

Effective 1 February 2017, amortisation will be withdrawn and the Basic VDSL Factsheet will be amended to reflect this. We will charge upfront at the time of install, for Basic VDSL connection and wiring installations. The charge for connection and wiring installs is $213.48. This comprises of a site visit connection of $131.27, plusUBA wiring of $82.21 (refer to Informer 391).

For existing amortised connections, these will remain until they are either disconnected or reach the connection and wiring uplift term’s expiry.
