New pre-consent process available for fibre installation
Informer 325: 1 March 2016
Online pre-consenting is now available for owners of multi dwelling units and right of ways.
What's happening?
Our customers have been telling us they would like to start the consent process before fibre is installed to help accelerate the connection process for owners of multi dwelling units and right of ways.
As a result, owners can now proactively give consent for fibre to be installed on their shared properties by filling in the form on our website.
This means that when we receive a fibre order from an occupant of a multi dwelling unit building or right of way, the building can be connected to better broadband faster if we have already received all of the necessary consents.
What's the detail?
We’ve developed a form on our website to allow owners to provide consent proactively before an order has been placed.
It is no longer necessary to provide an order reference and the owner can identify their consent as being a ‘pre-consent’.
Enabling owners to start the consent process before an order is placed will reduce the time to process the order and also the number of orders sitting within the consent process.
We need to undertake a number of checks to ensure the pre-consent is legally valid, including:
- The legal owner, or person who holds the owners delegated authority, has provided consent
- The address is correct
- The terms and conditions have been agreed to
- There are no added conditions
- We have the contact details for both contact person and owner
- Whether we require any other owners’ consent to proceed with the installation
If everything checks out, we can put the order through as consent gained and move onto the next stage.
There will be no change to our current design or build processes.
