Fibre marketing activity in Taupo, Rotorua and Whakatane

Informer 342: 11 March 2016

From 21 March we’re rolling out fibre marketing campaigns to stimulate demand in areas where we have extra Technician capacity.

What's happening?

We’re experiencing lower than expected uptake in Rotorua, Taupo and Whakatane and as a result we have additional Technician resource in these areas. To help resolve this we will be targeting all three areas with radio, social media, print, digital advertising and direct mail to stimulate fibre demand, between 21 March and 17 April.

It’s great news for your customers as it will mean that those that have a straight forward connection won’t have to wait to get fibre installed in these areas.

We understand that there are areas where we need additional resource to meet demand and we’re working with our Service Company Partners to find a solution that works long-term. For now, we’re simply trialling this type of campaign to determine whether we can stimulate demand where there is low uptake or occasional spare capacity in certain towns.

What's the detail?

Our marketing campaign will use our existing advertising collateral that encourages consumers to make slow internet a thing of the past.

Our advertising collateral was previously rolled out in Taupo, Blenheim and some central Auckland suburbs in 2015. We know this activity works in terms of raising awareness and generating warm leads, but having your marketing activity support will ultimately capture more fibre orders.

If you want to take up this opportunity and target these areas too, we have outlined our confirmed media activity on our customer website. We can also provide you with the address details of premises that can connect to fibre broadband, but who have yet to place an order.

Ideally, we would like to give you more notice of our marketing activity, but in this instance we want to move quickly make the most of the extra Technician capacity in these areas.

We will keep you informed on the success of the campaign, and whether we plan to target other areas with a similar type of campaign in the future.
