Fibre Upgrade Offer consultation

The original Broadband Upgrade Offer is due to finish at the end of September 2017, however we’d like to continue supporting your efforts to upgrade your customers to fibre. We’re proposing a new offer that we'd now like your feedback on.

What we’re proposing:

  1. Our new offer is available from 1 October 2017 to 31 March 2018.
  2. Upgrade your ADSL base to fibre 100Mbps+ plans.
  3. We’ll calculate your average monthly BAU threshold (criteria outlined below) which we will make available to you next week through your account manager.
  4. For every connection above your BAU threshold you’ll receive a $150 contribution towards a fibre-ready modem. Note: there are no contributions to BAU volumes.
  5. The $150 contribution will be credited when service is given to qualifying connections. These connections must be inflight by 31 March 2018.
  6. Some addresses may meet the criteria for multiple offers. However, any credits applied for an address under this offer will not be eligible to receive a credit for another offer.

The contribution is available nationwide. We’ll work out your average monthly BAU run rate by looking at historical data to identify:

  1. Your gross NGA orders placed per month (your upgrades from qualifying products), across a 12 month period.
  2. Your average cancellation rate, for those orders within the first 30 days.
  3. We’ve taken into consideration the increase of orders due to the current Broadband Upgrade Offer, as well as seasonal impacts, when calculating the BAU rate.

To participate in this offer you’ll need to sign up within 4 weeks of the offer being formally announced. We will then work with you to agree on your BAU volumes, migration plan and timings.

Please note that we’re consulting on these changes, so the proposed offer may change after we receive your feedback.

Next steps

Please send us your feedback on the proposal to your account manager or askportfolio@chorus.co.nz before 18 August 2017.

We’ll send another Update at the end of August with a summary of your feedback and any changes to the proposal. The agreement letter will be available from week commencing 28 August 2017.
