Our broadband checker's getting upgrades
When your customers use our beta site, they’ll see each location’s install process, connection lead time and things they need to do. Let us know your feedback, so we’re ready for a full launch.
What's happening?
To help your customers through the fibre install process, we’re beta-testing new features in our broadbandchecker (https://beta.chorus.co.nz). Our updated checker now shows specific details relevant to a customer’s address. This includes:
- The install process depending on whether it’s a single dwelling unit (SDU), in a right of way (ROW) or a multi-dwelling unit (MDU).
- A list of service providers offering fibre there.
- We’ll also indicate our install lead time to connect, based on their region (assuming the network build/consents are completed, and we’ve received a valid order).
We’ve improved the accuracy of our address data to give better results, and will introduce more enhancements during this public beta. We’re launching a public trial today via social media and invite feedback from you and your customers.
What's the detail?
Another change we’re planning to add during the beta, is to show possible VDSL providers if fibre isn’t available. Clicking your logo will redirect them to your website.
We receive 80,000+ address queries every month. To ensure it’s fair for all, we’ll randomise the order of service providers listed. If you’d like to be included on this new page, simply let us know which regions you sell VDSL in by 30 November 2016. We can then redirect leads to your site.
Note the installation lead times shown on the checker are taken from the lead-time report we currently make available to you. These are based on the general availability of our fibre technicians and their workload in the area. There may be earlier appointments available, depending on any late cancellations when you place an order. Your service delivery manager can also update you on how we’re minimising lead times. (For example, we’ve contracted additional crews in Dunedin and Hawke’s Bay).
We’ll do a full launch on Chorus.co.nz once testing’s complete. The final date depends on the feedback received and any improvements needed. To provide us feedback, please submit via the link on the new site.
Who do I contact?
Please contact your service delivery manager with your site feedback, and your consent to show which VDSLregions you serve.
