Improving the rural copper broadband experience
We’re upgrading nearly 100 copper cabinets by the end of the year. Here’s an outline of our plans.
What's happening?
Give your customers the good news. We’ve got cabinet upgrades planned for rural areas throughout the country. Properties serviced from these cabinets will experience better broadband and many will be able to access VDSL.
What's the detail?
Properties serviced from upgraded cabinets will experience better broadband as soon as the work is complete. Peak speeds will improve, overall speeds will increase and the ability to access ADSL2+ and VDSL will be the reality for many.
To give you more visibility of our plans, you’ll find details on our Rural Broadband Chorus (RBC) programme online:
- Our RBC cabinet rollout plan is covered here. Our copper service availability/broadband coverage report, now includes planned upgrades. This report is generally updated monthly.
- Your updated ADSL footprint report now shows which of your end customers benefit from a cabinet upgrade (including the planned migration date).
Like our UFB build programme, we’ll let those affected know via a letterbox drop once the work is done. This educates customers on the improved broadband experience now available.
