Rolling forecasts required for colocation services

The infrastructure at some of our popular exchange colocation sites is nearing capacity. To ensure that we can continue to meet your colocation needs we are implementing a forecasting requirement, effective from 1 August 2018. This means that all requests for additional space and power must be preceded by a two year rolling forecast before they will be assessed.

What is happening?

Historically we have been able to meet demand at most of our key sites without the need for a formal forecast, but increasing demand is stretching our infrastructure close to capacity.

To provide us with a clearer picture of anticipated consumption, and to allow us to plan space and the activities we can sustain at these sites, we are implementing a forecasting requirement from 1 August 2018.

All customers will need to submit a two year rolling forecast of any space and power demands across our key sites. The forecasting template is available under Resources below.

The forecast will need to be updated and submitted each quarter, due February, May, August and November. To assist in the initial forecasting round in May our Colocation team will be in touch in the coming weeks to guide you through this process.

From 1 August 2018 any colocation requests at our high priority sites will be declined if a forecast has not been provided.

Quarterly forecasting will be a mandatory step before submitting Colocation requests for the following products:

    • Exchange Space
    • UCLL Colocation
    • Wireless Colocation
