Install of Simple or Plug and Play Customer Premises Equipment - product change

Back in July we informed you of the upcoming price change for installation of Simple or Plug and Play Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) at addresses that have an intact fibre, where fibre has previously been installed.

 

Any new requests to install Simple or Plug & Play CPE at premises where a UFB service that has been previously installed will have a charge of $125 from today, 1st November 2018.  You’ll find the UFB updated price list on our website (item 2.4 - appendix 3 - UFB price list ancillary charges, table B).

 

For a new fibre install under the NGA Residential Installation Offer, the charge for Simple or Plug & Play CPE installation at the same time as the UFB service installation continues to be waived (item 2.3 - appendix 3 - UFB price list ancillary charges, table B).

 

Supporting details

The charge will be triggered when you order an intact connection ‘with CSE’ option (CSE-Customer Service Experience). You can check for existing optical network terminals (ONT) by simply looking up the customers address and watching out for the existing ONT information in Chorus Portal.

You can alternatively retrieve this information via B2B gateway by querying site information via “QuerySiteInformationRequest”.

  • If you want the technician to visit your customers’ premises to install your simple or plug and play CPE you can order the intact with a ‘Standard CSE’, which will now incur a charge of $125.
  • If you do not want a technician to visit the premises you can remotely activate your new UFB service by ordering the intact service without the Customer Service Experience (CSE). 
  • This is done by changing the Plug and Play CSE option to the ‘No CSE required’ option.
